Personalized Education Program (PEP)
Our goal at Erie Day School is to provide an individualized, developmental, and educational experience for our students that will serve as a strong foundation for a lifetime of learning, growth, responsibility, and leadership. All parents understand that middle school is a challenging time for their children. For this reason we have created an innovative approach to educating children in these 'middle' years. Our Personalized Education Program (PEP) is a unique approach to educating middle school students. The essential vision for PEP is an expanded academic curriculum that encourages students to explore and pursue their interests, while fulfilling a challenging, required core curriculum. This is offered within a school community committed to teaching cooperation, tolerance, and mutual respect.
Erie Day School’s Personalized Education Program (PEP) is a mixed grade level program offering courses in four core subjects: English, mathematics, general sciences, and social sciences, as well as programs designed to engage students in performing arts, visual arts, foreign languages, computer science, and athletics. By extending learning opportunities beyond the classroom, we are also able to provide students with an education rich in diversified experiences. Students visit local libraries for research, explore museum exhibits, enjoy concerts, and attend theater productions. Grade 7 and 8 sstudents travel each year to the Shaw and Stratford Festivals in Ontario, Canada and include in their visits tours of the Welland Canal and Fort George.
