WQLN's 'We Question and Learn' Program

WQLN's Tom Pysz talks with Dr. Karen Tyler, Head of School at Erie Day School.  They explore everything from the value of a classical education to having computers in the classroom.

At the Erie Day School's weekly 'Friday Morning Meeting,' Virginia Rogers, Grade 8 teacher, presented information about the significance of The Rose Theatre (London, England) and explained in detail the EDS activities to help 'raise' The Rose.  As a service learning opportunity, students were asked to choose puzzle piece of The Rose Theatre, a student illustrated foamcore replication, document chores or other projects to raise funds (ex. "I will earn $2 raking the lawn or cleaning my room"), and then return the puzzle piece signed by their parents to help 'reconstruct' The Rose Theatre inside Erie Day School.  Funds will be collected throughout the year and in June, 2012, Mrs. Rogers will return to London with some of the participants and will meet withte directors of The Rose Preservataion and Restoration Project to present them with the Erie Day School students' contributions.  For additional information on The Rose Theatre visit: http://www.rosetheatre.org.uk
